The Safe and Effective New Treatment to Remove an Unwanted Tattoo
Do you have a tattoo that seemed a good idea at the time but you now regret and would love to remove it?
If so, the answer could be easier than you think. Many wish to know, ‘is laser tattoo removal safe and effective?’ Tattoo removal has come a long way in recent years. The new FDA-approved Harmony XL Pro laser is a new safe and effective laser tattoo treatment that gets great results. It uses a combination of laser wavelengths to target and break up the different ink colours. Harmony Laser is powerful enough to remove even the most stubborn tattoos to reveal clear, smooth and ink-free skin. This treatment carries only a very slight risk of scarring or pigmentation changes.
We first introduced the treatment here at Health & Aesthetics earlier this year and the feedback from patients already has been fantastic.

Start Your Treatment Before the Summer Holidays
As the holiday season approaches, we all want to look our very best on the beach, and while sun, sea and sand may be high up on our holiday wishlist, feeling self-conscious about a tattoo you regret most certainly is not.
Harmony XL Pro is quite simply one of the most effective methods for removing unwanted tattoos currently available. It is effective on different types of tattoos (both professional and amateur), even large, full colour ones. The difference is how many treatments will be required to fully remove it. This usually ranges from 6 to 20 treatments and we will be able to estimate this at your initial consultation.
Is Laser Tattoo Removal Safe & Effective & How Does It Work?
Tattoo ink particles are too large to be expelled naturally by the body. So although tattoos may fade over time, the only truly effective way to remove a tattoo is professionally. The treatment works by using high intensity light beams to shatter the large ink particles into tiny particles which the body’s immune system can then remove. Meaning, the tattoo gradually starts to fade then disappear altogether. Due to the tattoo ink selectively absorbing the laser energy, the surrounding skin does not become harmed or overheated.
The Harmony XL Pro is a Q-switched laser. This means that laser light is delivered in nano-seconds and is regarded as the gold standard amongst dermatologists.
Our safe and effective laser tattoo removal in Surrey typically takes between 5 – 40 minutes, depending on the size of the tattoo you wish to have removed. Most patients would describe the treatment as uncomfortable, probably similar to having the tattoo done in the first place. However, we can numb the area with a local anaesthetic to ease the discomfort and the vast majority of people will tolerate the treatment well.
Patient safety is paramount and we will always carry out a patch test 24 hours before treatment to see how you respond. We will also take a ‘before’ picture so that we can monitor progress.

There may be some swelling and redness immediately after the treatment, but this usually settles down typically within a couple of days. Sometimes there may also be mild blistering but again this usually disappears quickly. We will apply an anti-bacterial ointment after treatment. Please make sure you also cover the area with a high factor sunscreen.
Typically you will see a visible reduction in the tattoo after just one session of this highly effective laser tattoo removal treatment. Then the results will progressively improve after each subsequent session.
